Leveraging IT
Too often excluded from the business
table in organisations, or siphoned off to be run ‘out
of finance’, IT has failed to deliver; more correctly
business has failed to leverage IT. The executive
management team skillset needs to include a clear
appreciation of what IT can bring to the table. The IT
team skillset needs to include a clear understanding of
the business objectives and challenges of the
organisation and an ability to deliver consistently
against timelines and budgets. Leveraging IT is about
developing and implementing ways of working to ensure
the business is aware of the IT options and the IT
organisation is able to deliver on the business
objectives.
Ciall works with business and IT management teams in:
- Development of business-focused IT strategy
- Establishment of cross-functional and/or cross-divisional management
structures for IT
- Implementation of management structures and key performance indicators
within IT functions
- Establishment of capital expenditure frameworks for IT investment
- Assessment of resourcing options for IT functions – including full or
partial outsourcing
