Leveraging IT

Too often excluded from the business table in organisations, or siphoned off to be run ‘out of finance’, IT has failed to deliver; more correctly business has failed to leverage IT. The executive management team skillset needs to include a clear appreciation of what IT can bring to the table. The IT team skillset needs to include a clear understanding of the business objectives and challenges of the organisation and an ability to deliver consistently against timelines and budgets. Leveraging IT is about developing and implementing ways of working to ensure the business is aware of the IT options and the IT organisation is able to deliver on the business objectives.
